about me

I am a registered nurse and also a certified reiki master.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to combine the best of both worlds in my healing practice. Nursing has provided me with a solid foundation in the physical aspects of healthcare, allowing me to understand and address the medical needs of my patients. However, as a reiki master, I have been able to tap into a different aspect of healing by harnessing the power of energy and promoting balance within the body. This combination allows me to offer a holistic approach to patient care, addressing not only their physical ailments but also their emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. By integrating reiki into my nursing practice, I am able to create a healing environment that goes beyond traditional medicine, offering patients a unique experience of healing and restoration.

My journey to healing has not been a straight one. It is my experience that most healers find their way. I enjoy helping others. I started with babysitting, then as a lifeguard and a tele recruiter for the American Red Cross, where I encouraged blood donations. I am a good listener, and it shows up as being a confidant for friends, coworkers, and well as people I encounter in both familiar and unfamiliar settings.

In 2004, I moved to Portland, Maine after earning a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Vermont. Unsure of what path to take, I found myself working in operations at a local insurance company, performing tasks like stapling policies and sorting mail.

In 2006, something changed… I had a sudden realization that nursing was my calling. Being born as an empath, caring for others has always come naturally to me. I have a keen ability to observe, quietly taking in every detail of my surroundings, and possessing a remarkable memory for even the smallest things. People watching remains one of my favorite superpowers.

In 2008, I started my nursing career at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine after earning my associates degree from the University of New England. I worked for 12.5 years on an acute cardiac telemetry unit. In 2014, while gaining experience at the bedside, I received my Bachelors in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine.

In November of 2018, I had a powerful session with distant energy healer, Caitlin Marino. My spiritual journey with Reiki and energy work began and I spent the next few years taking classes and building my healing toolbox to augment my nursing.

In 2021, I decided to make a change to better balance my responsibilities as a mother to two young boys. I transitioned to outpatient care within the cardiac specialty of electrophysiology.

In my current role, I triage patients with complex arrhythmias over the phone. Additionally, I conduct wound care checks following the implantation of pacemakers and internal defibrillators. This shift in my nursing practice allows me to maintain my clinical expertise while accommodating the demands of my family.

In May 2022, I completed my certification as a Holy Fire Usui Reiki Master. I knew that my life would forever be changed and with that the patients that I encountered.
